We had a table next to the bar area but it was not overly noisy. We enjoyed a great Argentine wine, Tierra Secreta, a beet salad and cheese appetizer...all very good. Our only wish is that they could have included 2 or 3 more ravioli in the entree. The service was very good...very attentive staff! Overall, an enjoyable experience.
The Whole Bowl provides skimpy servings...more like a half-bowl. Taste is o.k. but I sure thought I was going to go there and feel full when I left. No so! I had to order two bowls before I felt full. Poor value.
Food at Prasad is satisfactory but I haven't had any menu item that I could say was outstanding. I wish they could upgrade their menu and taste results to match Blossoming Lotus which used to be at this location in the Pearl. Still, Prasad is a handy place to breeze into when you are in a hurry and in the immediate vicinity. It is a credit to them that they are keeping a vegan menu.
I've eaten several of Laughing Planet's burritos and they always taste fresh and full of flavor. And the prices are very affordable...for people like me who have to eat out often. Ingredients are often organic and healthy. Be sure and try some of their bowl menu items, particular the Bhudda Bowl and Southwest Bowl...excellent!
I tried several of the pizzas from Pizza Schmizza and found them to be consistently ho-hum. Nothing stood out...just a bunch of ingredients and melded together in my mouth as one uniform taste. Also, I thought the crust was limp, like it wasn't fully baked. If you're looking for good pizza, this isn't the place.
Hotlips puts out a good quality pizza made with all organic ingredients, according to the menu. They have a large repetior of pizzas, something to fit just about every taste. Their thin crust is consistent from pizza to pizza and you can count on good taste. My only complaint is that they could sweep the floor more often.
I've eaten at Oba several times, and regardless of what I order the food, the food is consistently good and satisfying. They offer a variety of fish, meat and veggie entre's and all plates are artfully presented. Be sure and try their Mexican gumbo and cha cha cha fries. And their bebop boop upside down cake will send you coasting home.
If you want a first-class experience, eat at Andina. Their Peruvian/Latin fusion food is an epicurian experience. Not only is everything very tasty but presented wonderfully. This is an excellent restaurant to impress your business clients and your spouse or friend. Be sure to make a reservation well in advance, or be prepared for a wait of up to 3 hours to get a table.
This place is a sushi experience just as if you were eating in Tokyo. It has the same kind of feeling, the decor and the way the sushi chefs are making their products in an open kitchen right in front of you. There is a little conveyor belt bringing the items by you...just choose the ones you want and accumulate the little receipts and pay the cashier when you leave.
